About Online Screen Recorder
Online Screen Recorder is a powerful, free browser-based recording studio that lets you capture your entire desktop, specific application window, or individual browser tab with synchronized audio. There is no software to install, no browser extension required, and zero registration needed.
Operating entirely through standard HTML5 MediaStream and MediaRecorder APIs, your video streams are encoded locally on your computer. Your recordings are never uploaded to any remote server or stored in the cloud, guaranteeing full confidentiality and privacy for meetings, gameplay, software tutorials, and bug reports.
Key features
- Flexible Screen & Window Capture Choose between recording your full monitor, an individual application window (like VS Code, PowerPoint, or Slack), or a specific browser tab with crisp high-definition resolution.
- System & Microphone Audio Mixing Capture clear internal system sound, external microphone commentary, or mix both audio streams simultaneously into a unified soundtrack using the Web Audio API.
- Webcam Picture-in-Picture Overlay Add your camera feed as an overlay in the corner of your screen recording with customizable positions and shapes for engaging presentations and video tutorials.
- No Watermarks & No Time Limits Enjoy unrestricted recording time without intrusive watermarks, branding, or artificial quality downgrades. Record as long as your device storage and memory allow.
- 100% Client-Side Privacy & Instant Download All video encoding takes place locally inside your browser sandbox. Preview the recorded footage immediately and save standard WebM or MP4 files directly to your device.

Usage tips
- To record high-quality sound from browser games or YouTube videos, choose the "Chrome Tab" share mode and ensure the "Share tab audio" checkbox is checked.
- Use 60 FPS mode for high-motion gameplay or smooth UI animations, and 30 FPS mode for standard presentations or long meetings to keep file sizes compact.
- If you plan to record long videos (over 30 minutes), ensure your computer has adequate free RAM and storage, as the browser holds recording chunks in memory until saved.
- Test your microphone using the live audio visualizer meter in the settings panel before starting an important recording to ensure your voice levels are optimal.
